On Friday Red Class went out to do a transport survey. We had great fun looking at all the different forms of transport that go along Stapleton Hall Road. When we returned to school we looked at our data and found that cars were the most popular form of transport. We didn’t see any aeroplanes!

Starting red class

The children have enjoyed exploring the activities across the seven areas of learning in Red Class. They have used their fine motor skills to put ‘apple pegs ‘on the apple trees and have enjoyed creating lovely patterns with the rubbing boards. The children love reading a variety of books in our reading area and have been collecting autumnal treasures at the weekend to add to our Autumn display.
In our outside area the children have had great fun dressing up in a variety of hats and costumes and have enjoyed exploring the Home corner and taking care of the dolls and pets.

Our six areas of learning

In our classroom we enjoy many wonderful areas. The areas can be explored freely and every day there are lots of new, exciting activities.

In our reading area we enjoy looking at Big books, picture books and interactive books.
In our creative area, we love exploing playdough and shaving foam. We also enjoy less messy activities like making collages and painting pictures and patterns.
In our construction area we enjoy building with a variety of construction sets, like lego, duplo, mobilo and Interstar.
In our outside area, we love playing in the sand, using small world toys, climbing and taking a well earned rest in our Reading Boat.
